Poster: Mitigating Erroneous Wake-ups
نویسندگان
چکیده
We propose a novel method for mitigating erroneous wake-ups that are commonly associated with ultra-low power wake-up receivers. Recent research in low-power protocols has demonstrated significant improvements in energy-efficiency by employing ultralow power wake-up receivers. However, due to the low-complexity receiver structures adopted, wake-up receivers are susceptible to external interference, which can cause the detection of non-existent wake-ups. The occurrence of these erroneous wake-ups wastes precious energy resources, thereby negating the potential energy savings in employing wake-up receivers. We address this challenging problem by extracting time-domain features from the output of the wake-up receiver, and construct a classifier to distinguish between correct and erroneous wake-ups. We describe the design of the proposed wake-up classifier and present preliminary results.

متن کاملCoverage Aware Battery Regression Curve Node Scheduling in Wireless Sensor Networks
In energy-limited wireless sensor networks (WSN’s), optimized node scheduling is an important technique for maximizing coverage and network lifetime. Existing coverage protocols present periodical, random and conditional node scheduling based on some coverage metrics. However, these scheduling techniques causes the frequent and un-necessary wake-ups of sleeping nodes which would increase the en...

متن کاملA Proposed Textual Model for i-Star
Software start-ups have embedded themselves in the economic zeitgeist as drivers of innovation and growth. ‘Unicorns’, such as Facebook, Uber, Pinterest, Dropbox, and Palantir, have ably demonstrated the market disrupting and industry transforming potential of upstarts that ‘punch above their weight class’. These successful businesses began as start-ups and matured into enterprises with multi-b...
متن کاملDuty-Cycle-Aware Minimum Energy Multicasting of Passive RFID Wake-up Radios for Wireless Sensor Networks
In duty-cycled wireless sensor networks, the nodes switch between active and dormant states, and each node determine its active/dormant schedule independently. This complicates the Minimum Energy Multicasting (MEM) problem in wireless sensor networks both for one-to-many multicasting and for all-to-all multicasting. In the case of one-to-many multicasting, we present a formalization of the Mini...
